It takes Van De Velde 18 months, from the first design sketch, to the moment you can try on that bra in the fitting room. 18 months during which your bra is tested, studied and perfected.
All materials used in each Prima Donna and Marie Jo style is in line with the German Oeko-Tex standard (certified as free of harmful chemicals).
Van De Velde’s Underwires are made from a high-grade steel with Nylon coating. They are flexible, nickel free, protected at each end and every style and size has its own underwire. The wires are a Concave shape which is mores like a U-shaped wire.
They use an “underwire tunnel” in all their bras – The underwire is placed in a foam casing and wrapped in two layers of material before being sewn into the bra. This is extremely comfortable for customers as the wire is cushioned on their ribcage and it is not just an underwire on the skin.
Van De Velde’s high-quality products are designed to last and are produced with the aim to minimise their environmental foot print. They achieve this by producing as little waste as possible and creating a quality product designed to last.
To ease the environmental footprint of product creation, Van De Velde are actively watching any new material developments and they explore new materials with a lower ecological footprints. They understands that they can reduce impact by shifting to more sustainable alternatives, this is as long as the quality of the products is not compromised.
